Hillsborough has been managed and run by the owner, Marie Danvers, since 1989. We are registered with Cornwall County Council and can accommodate up to 22 residents in a variety of single or double rooms.
All rooms are tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard. Hillsborough aims to create a relaxed atmosphere typical of a family home. Residents are welcome to furnish their rooms according to their wishes and are encouraged to personalise them with mementos, ornaments, pictures etc. A total of 18 single and 2 double rooms are available.
All bedrooms are double glazed, fully carpeted & tastefully decorated. They contain TV points (a large-screen TV is also available in one of the lounges). Residents' rooms are equipped with radiators which can be adjusted according to individual requirements. The majority of bedrooms have en-suite facilities and all are fitted with an approved fire detection system and personal staff-call buttons to ensure total peace of mind. A stair lift is fitted to give access to the first floor and handrails and ramps are available throughout the home.
There is a communal dining room at the front of the house were residents can sit and eat their meals whilst socialising with their peers. For those who wish to eat their meals in private they are more than welcome to eat in their rooms or to sit in one of the two living rooms that have comfortable armchairs and a large television. There is also a sun lounge that looks into the garden. Residents can sit here in the summer and enjoy the sunshine or entertain their own guests.
Outside we have large accessible garden where residents can sit under the trees in the summertime. In the springtime the residents can see the abundance of colour with rhododendrons, camellias, azaleas and magnolia.
Hillsborough is located only a short walk from the town centre of Callington and enjoys panoramic views over the local countryside. The door is always open to visitors and we are proud of our warm and welcoming environment.
